Modular lighting system
Coursework for a university class customisable serially produced design
This is a customisable wall-mounted light fixture. It consists of a metal plate on which lamps are placed using magnets and connected with cables, before glass triangles are placed over the lamps to create dispersed, ambient lighting. The glass panes are encased in iron frames and connected by magnetic balls and can be moved around at will. The panes’ triangular shapes automatically produce prism-based structures and come in varying shades of colour and opacity, so as to enable various types of illumination.

The idea I settled on was born from an Origami technique
