
Bang & Olufsen Portable Speaker
Coursework for a university class on demographic marketing and design strategies
This portable bluetooth speaker was created during a course on demographic marketing strategies, and is tailored to the needs of the “Creativiteens“. As defined by the “Zunkunftsinstitut“, an influential German think-tank, “Creativiteens“ are young, mobile, and most importantly, digital. They are the true digital natives: Where “normal“ teenagers also live in the virtual reality, “Creativiteens“ live and shape the real virtuality. Part of the course‘s aim was to choose a company which did not yet appeal to “Creativiteens” and design a product for them which would be used by the is group. I chose Bang and Olufsen because it is a very traditional and fairly exclusive manufacturer of speakers and televisions. This portable bluetooth speaker combines the mobility that is a core part of the “Creativiteens” identity, with the quality and elevated design standards of Bang and Olufsen, and is therefore ideally suited to introduce young customers to the brand.
