Figurines for Kinder Surprise Eggs
I designed these for Kinder Surprise Eggs. They are each modelled and named after a different tree.
From left to right: Cherry, Maple and Pine. The final product features cardboard cut-outs on which foliage is printed. These cut-outs can be lodged between the two parts that form the head, so as to imitate leaves and branches. The main challenge on this project was to maintain the lofty fairy-like quality of the original design, while also making the models safe for children to play with and put in their mouths. This last part is a particular difficulty of working on Kinder Surprise toys. Because the toys are hidden within the chocolate egg, different and much more stringent health and safety rules apply to these toys, which often heavily impact the design. And finally, all parts have to be designed to be as cheap as possible to produce.
Modelled in Geomagic, rendered in Keyshot.
